What is a phishing link?

A phishing link is a malicious URL designed to trick you into providing sensitive information, such as passwords, credit card numbers, or personal details, by pretending to be a legitimate site.

How does LinkSpector identify phishing links?

LinkSpector uses a number of techniques to analyze URLs and detect suspicious patterns and known phishing markers, such as URL-Based Features, Domain-Based Features and cross-references links against a constantly updated database of known phishing sites.

What should I do if I receive a suspicious link?

If you receive a suspicious link, avoid clicking on it. You can use LinkSpector to scan the link for potential threats through a copy and paste. If confirmed as phishing, delete the message containing the link and report it if possible.

Can LinkSpector identify phishing links in emails and text messages?

LinkSpector only validates links that are inputted into the the app. These links can received through various communication channels, including emails, text messages, social media, and instant messaging apps.

What are common signs of a phishing link?

Common signs include URLs with misspellings or unusual characters, Unsolicited requests for personal information, Links that direct you to a login page asking for credentials or Offers that seem too good to be true

Can I manually check a link using LinkSpector?

Absolutely. You can enter any suspicious link into LinkSpector’s URL scanner for an immediate security check.

What actions does LinkSpector take if a phishing link is detected?

When a phishing link is detected, the app will provide you with either a Green box advising that the URL is safe or a Red Warning indicating that it may be malicious

Is my personal information safe when using LinkSpector?

Yes, we prioritize your privacy and security. LinkSpector does not store or share your personal information and only processes the links you scan to provide a safety assessment.

Can LinkSpector help me recover from phishing attacks?

While LinkSpector is designed to prevent phishing attacks, we also provide resources and guidelines on steps to take if you believe you have fallen victim to a phishing scam, such as changing passwords and contacting relevant institutions.

Is the app compatible with all mobile devices?

For now, LinkSpector is compatible with iOS. Ensure you have the latest version of the operating system for optimal performance.

Does Linkspector require an internet connection to function?

For the Basic Freemium Version, No. All Validation checks are performed offline. Internet connectivity is required for the subscription version of Linkspector to perform real-time link analysis and receive updates on the latest phishing threats.

Is there a cost associated with using LinkSpector?

LinkSpector offers a basic version for free, which includes essential phishing detection features. There is also a premium version with advanced protection features available via subscription.
